Tips For Making Your Mobile Phone Battery Last Longer

Posted on 17 September 2010 by PaulNelson

Continuously having to charge your mobile phone can be slightly frustrating. It is important that the battery does not go dead if you need to go out for the day or when you are heading off on a long trip. Here are a few tips to help you get more from your mobile phone battery.

- Try not to play games on your mobile phone as this really does use up a lot of the battery’s life. If you want your phones to stay charged for longer then try and just limit yourself to just calls and texts.

- Try turning your phone off for a couple of hours if you have no plans to call anyone and if you are not expecting any phone calls. One thing that many of us do is waste the battery power because we leave our phones switched on even though we are not anywhere near the phone.

- Your phone will waste a lot of power searching for a signal if you are in an area where the signal is bad. If you don’t want your phone wasting battery power in a situation like this then it would be better if you turned it off completely or switched it to aircraft mode. However your phone will save power in areas with a strong signal because it does not need to search for a signal.

- If you have a backlight on your phone see if it is possible to turn this off; this can make a huge saving in power.

- Turn off the vibration function unless you feel you really need it. Ringing uses less power than the vibrate function.

- Be aware that surfing using a 3G device is also something that will use a lot of power.

- Unless you need Bluetooth at a particular time, you should have it switched off. This uses a lot of power and will quickly drain your battery dry.
